I could go on about all the fun and happy times dealing with motherhood, buying houses, reading books, teaching at the Y, converging on the state of the world, America V Britain....yes, this does include Scotland!
But, my mind is on where we are both from and all I really want to say is an old Scottish minors blessing which I think Karen will appreciate.
Wishing you always walls for the wind,
A roof for the rain,
Tea beside the fire,
And the love and laughter of those you hold dear,
Lang may yur lum blaze.
This blessing may seem simple but it has meaning for us lassies from the north.
Happy birthday my dear, you know I hate doing this and my paper card will be arriving via the old fashioned way! Bloody computer freaks!
Hey Christine, this is Karen not Bob... Yes I am considerably older than you--i know I won't be allowed to forget it. Thanks for the blessing, one day you may need to tell me what Lum means...
